THE
ONLY THING THAT MATTERED
A love letter
to God
I walked along the
shore,
and the only things that mattered were the sun warming my face and the
surf pounding the sand
I gazed upon the
sea
and the only things that mattered were the crashing of the waves and YOU
by my side
I looked into YOUR
eyes
and there were no yesterdays, nor any tomorrows, the only thing that mattered
was now
YOU touched my hand
and my soul soared
a gull on the ocean breeze
and the only thing that mattered was the wind beneath my wings
YOU embraced me
and my life became complete
the wind would never cease
the waves would keep their cadence
the sun would never fade
and now became forever
YOU held me
And we became One,
in Body, in Spirit
and that
was the only thing that mattered.
