3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
That we can be free from sin and death,
And have life now begun.
He paid our wages, although we deserved the grave,
He went 6ft under, rose again
So that we can be saved.

Jesus never came to point the finger or accuse,
Laugh at all your problems
Just kickin’ it with His boys,
While you battle with snake and lose.

He came to redeem, put right what was wrong,
Dispel darkness, Bring a brand new song.
A new melody – EVERLASTING LIFE;
Sing to its rhyme and have life sublime,
Where you’ll never walk alone.
He takes us as we are and not as we should be
Clothed us in His love, not like Adam with a fig tree.

Jesus is for real, genuine to the core,
Try Him and you’ll be begging for more!
You can’t get enough of Him you see,
The deeper you go, the more you believe.
Christianity is a journey and your travelling crew is trust and faith,
Grace and mercy are there to back you up
If you stumble or fall out of place.

“ But what about the snake??!!!” I hear you cry;
“ He’s dogged me for so long. I’m all bound up in fear,
My chains go on and on!”

As I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son,
That we can be free from sin and death
And have new life begun.

He came to set us free from sin; give us liberty instead.
The snake has no power over you
He may bruise our heel,
But we have the power to crush his head!

Jesus came to help you out of your mess,
Fix you up, head up, shoulders back, walk straight.
It’s not impossible as the evil one would have you believe,
It’s so simple, that’s how he’s got you deceived.

He’ll whisper in you ear and tell you ‘It’s too darn hard
To get up and cry out “ Help me Lord!!”’
He’ll tell you your wasting your time,
Everyone will think you’ve gone mad
If you give your life to Jesus,
You ain’t nothing but sad!

Don’t listen to his lies,
He had his chance and fled.
He knows it’s your time to shine
And would rather see you dead.
- Shut out of the kingdom, in darkness all alone
Never seeing the saviour’s face, never going home.
He’d rather see you walk hot coals,
Than walk the streets of gold,
Drink from a fountain of fire, than taste milk and honey and delights untold.

He knows what heaven’s like,
Probably wishes he could go back,
But it’s too late for him,
He sold his light from sin.

You still have time to mend your relationship with God,
Don’t throw it away for tomorrow or some other day.
Make your mind up now before it’s too late,
Don’t see the door slammed in your face
And shut out of heaven’s gate.

As I’ve said before and I’ll say it again,
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
That we can be free from sin and death,
And have life now begun.
